  • See image below for top needs

  • We will collect our final donations at the pasta party on Thursday

Pasta Party this Thursday at 4:15 in the Cafeteria

  • All athletes are invited to enjoy some great food (Barone's) and even better company going into our conference meet.

  • We will also collect final food drive donations, distribute remaining gear, and hand out extra picture day forms if needed

Picture Day Monday of Next Week @ 4:45 (Bring uniforms!)

  • All athletes should bring their uniform AND warm-ups to school on Monday in preparation for our team photo.

  • While everyone should be in the team photo, Individual photos are optional. If you wish to order individual photos, you will need a physical order form from practice. I'll be handing those out this week and will have extras on Picture Day.

  • More information will be given to athletes on Wednesday the 13th so that they can prepare for next Tuesday, the 19th

Weekly Awards and Specialty Meet Updates

  • Mustang Relays Recap

    • 4x8 (Nitti, Meehan, Julian, Halden) had a season best of 8:02.9, placed 6th out of 30 teams, and also ranked 6th in the state!

    • 4x2 (Ellens, Rayan, CMT, Guzman) PR’d, got 10th out of 30 teams, and cracked top 50 times in the state

    • 4x4 (Nitti, CMT, Blew, Melms) also got 6th out of 30, a new PR, & cracked top 20 in the state

  • Distance Madness Recap

    • Charlie Halden ran 4:25.97 in the mile, got 9th out of 95 runners, was 5 seconds from a PR, with hardly any training this season. I think it’s official: welcome back, Charlie!

    • Nitti got a season best and placed 14th, Meehan got a PR and placed 24th as well

    • Also got great races out of Graham Faris, Liam Grady (SB), Matt King, and Ryan Rader (2 mile). Great job, gents!

  • Weekly awards!

    • Runner of the week: "This week's runner of the week goes to a person who’s been dealing with a lagging injury, and through recovering, he’s been doing all possible cross training to get back, better than ever. This past Friday, he really showed that he’s in top level shape with an incredible mile time of 4:25 and is ready for the season. Charlie Halden, Congrats!" - Captain Anthony Nitti

    • Field Athlete of the week: Trevor "Trev Dog" Keith for getting a double PR in shot put at WWS. Way to go, Trevor!

    • Captain’s award: Derrick Burrows for getting that 4x4 chant going and bringing the energy throughout the meet. As a teammate, your job isn't done after you compete, and DB understands this well.

    • Fire in the eyes: "This week’s fire in the eyes award goes to a runner, hurdler, and jumper who had PRs in both of his running events. He ran a 7 flat in flats at the WWS meet and also PRed in the hurdles, also in flats, two things which shouldn’t be possible. He also did incredible in his jumping events. Congratulations Jordan!" - Captain Mihir Sharma

    • Awesome award:

      • Teyion is running hot with a PR in the 55, a great split in the 4x200, and an even better open 200 time. Welcome back, Teyion!

      • Vince Schoettle had a huge huge PR in the 55 hurdles. He's getting noticeably better in the hurdles each week that goes by, and he's just getting started. Great work!

That's it for this week. This was a lot of information, so please let me know if you have any questions.

All the best,

Coach Voland
