Annual Food Drive starts today!

  • We will collect food pantry donations through March 20th (Thursday of next week) at our pasta party

  • Donating in paper bags (like those found at Trader Joe's or Mariano's) makes donating easier!

  • Athletes can bring canned goods to the PE office before, during, or after school, or they can bring items to practice.

  • This year's top needs include: mac and cheese, cereal, beans, syrup, pancake mix, dish soap, canned fruit, canned chicken, sugar, canned pasta, mayo, ketchup.

  • I'll be sending periodic emails with updates on how this is going this week and next.

  • Thank you for helping us support our local community.

Weekly Awards

Each week, we will recognize a handful of athletes for exceptional efforts at our meets. Our team captains have selected the following athletes from last week's home meet to be recognized.

  • Runner of the week: MASON ELLENS - This guy is one of the most prolific runners this program has seen, at Batavia he finished the 55 with a time of 6.41 which is currently an Illinois #1 time. - Jacob Blew

  • Field athlete of the week: JAYDEN MCKAY - This week's field athlete of the week is going to a guy who at Batavia jumped 9" higher this year than he did last year. That is a 2" PR which is great to see this early in the season. This week's Field athlete of the week goes to Jayden McKay. - Brandon Carpenter

  • Captains Award: ROWAN RIVERA - Rowan always has a positive attitude and gets everyone together to cheer like crazy for the 4x400 and other races. He gets his thrower crew pumped as well. This week's captains award goes to Rowan Rivera. - James Morris

  • Fire in the eyes: CHASE MARTIN SCOTT - This person was a crucial part to winning the 4x4 relay this past meet. Passing a kid to take first with another whole lap still to run and continued to gap the kid. This week's awesome award goes to CMT! - Mason Ellens

  • Awesome Award: LIAM GRADY - This guys had a massive pr in the 3200 and almost won it in the final 800. This guy also always works hard at practice and never misses a day. The hard work is definitely paying off which is why the awesome award goes to Liam Grady. - Graham Faris

Honoring School Records

As varsity records are broken, we will begin honoring those school records with write-ups and specialty T-shirts.

  • The old varsity 200 record by Tyquan Cox was 21.86, set in 2019. Mason Ellens got the new varsity 200m record at 21.84 last outdoor season. That 21.84 broke a 5-year-old record by 0.02 seconds.

  • The old 55 dash record by Tyquan Cox was 6.53, also set in 2019. Mason Ellens got the new varsity 55m dash record this past Saturday with a 6.41. That 6.41 broke a 6-year-old record by 0.12. That’s HUGE in the 55.

  • The old 55 hurdle record was set by Nate Larkin in 2005 at 7.8. Ben Schoettle got the new varsity 55m hurdle record this past Saturday at 7.77. That 7.77 broke a 20-year-old record by 0.03. Congrats Mason and Ben!!
