Awards from Last Week

Each week, we will recognize a handful of athletes for exceptional efforts at our meets. Our team captains have selected the following athletes from last week's home meet to be recognized:

Luke Dupuy, Keaton Peter, Carter Keller, Jordan Ademuyiwa (Not pictured: Bode Haber)
Luke Dupuy, Keaton Peter, Carter Keller, Jordan Ademuyiwa (Not pictured: Bode Haber)

  • Runner of the week: JORDAN ADEMUYIWA - This guy has been very consistent and takes his work very seriously. That hard work translated to the track when he ran an amazing 50 meter dash time. This weeks runner of the week goes to Jordan A. - Mason Ellens

  • Field athlete of the week: BODE HABER - At West Fest, this athlete cleared 11'6" and 12'6" in pole vault by a mile. 12'6" is way over his official PR from last year's outdoor season of 12'2", and 12'6" is also the 4th on our all-time record board for pole vault. He then went on to attempt 13'3". He almost cleared it, despite not having spikes, no official run-way, and even opted out of moving his standards "just to clear the height," as this would have sacrificed his vaulting form and technique. We're looking forward to seeing Bode Haber's vaults continue to get better this season. Way to go, Bode! - Coach Voland

  • Fire in the eyes: LUKE DUPUY - This guys has been putting in lots of work this season by showing up to all the morning practices and it showed this last meet in the 4 by 8 and 4 by 4. This guy took the lead in both of the races near the end which significantly contributed to his relay team's success. This award goes to Luke Dupuy. - Graham Faris

  • Captain's Award: CARTER KELLER - After the flight of jumps, there was sand everywhere. This kid, who isn't even a jumper, insisted on helping me sweep after the jumps were done. When I tell you this guy swept I mean he was all over the field house sweeping any sand he could.Pretty much any time I see this guy he is doing something to help out the team. Thank you for your selflessness, This week's captain's award goes to Carter Keller. - Jacob Blew

  • Awesome Award: KEATON PETER: This week Keaton ran the fastest 400 meter split in the 4x4 with very limited training after swim. He also showed great endurance in the 800 helping his team with both those events. -Brandon Carpenter
