  • Runner of the week: 4x100 - This crew earned a varsity school record for their efforts at Wheaton North. The previous school record was set at the 2018 state meet with Tyquan Cox, Alex Pierce, Joe Zydlo, and Brady Heller with a time of 42.16. Chase, Jordan, Bryce, and Mason beat that 7-year-old record at the very first outdoor invite with a time of 42.08. As of now, that time is tied for 3rd in the state. To get a relay ranked that high is a huge accomplishment. Congrats!

    • CHASE MARTIN SCOTT - This kid was the lead-off leg in our 4x1, later ran 11.24 in the 100, which was a huge PR and also the sophomore record in that event. Then, in his 3rd event, ran a bit of an ugly 300H and still hit a slight PR which tons of room for improvement. What a start to to ourdoor season, congrats CMT!

    • JORDAN ADEMUYIWA - This kid ran the second leg of the 4x1, left the other teams in the dust at that point. No one else had a chance. He came back in the open 100 and ran 10.85, a HUGE PR, which was 7th in the state. That was the fastest time of the meet, even though he ran in the B heat. He finally came back for his first ever split in the 4x4, on tired legs, and ran a great split. If Mason wasn't on our team, frankly, this is the stud sprinter that all of the other schools would be most scared of. Way to go, Jordan!

    • BRYCE ELLENS - This kid came out for track on a whim this year. He ran the 3rd leg of the 4x1 on Saturday, attacking that curve. He also ran his first ever 100 with an excellent time of 11.4, which won his heat by over half a second. He then came back later in the day with a huge PR in the 200. We're lucky to have you on the team, Bryce. Keep up the great work!

    • MASON ELLENS - This kid ran the final leg of the 4x1. The race was already over at that point, but Mason kept the lead going and took the relay to the next level, ensuring a first place finish. Congrats on helping the relay reach such as high mark. We are all here for you during your recovery period and are lucky to have you with us. Way to go, Mason!

  • Field athletes of the week:

    • JAMARCUS KELLY - This kid PR'd at conference and again at Wheaton north. He had a massive long jump of 21-8, close to state qualifying. He is currently tied for 10th in the state and is a great coach for the newer kids as well. - Mason Ellens

    • DAVID HERRERO - Huge 5-foot PR at Wheaton North. Not in Discus, which would be crazy anyway, but this was in shot put! Has been working hard in the weight room, working hard with technique. He joined as a sophomore and has been a really integral piece of the throwing crew and a great member of this team ever since. - Coach Voland

  • Captains Award: KEVIN VANCE This guy ran in both Thursday and Sunday's meet choosing to fill in for a 4x2. He ran well both days, for being such a hard working and caring kid, He PR'd in both meets. this weeks captains award goes to. Kevin Vance - Jacob Blew

  • Fire in the eyes: NATHAN HO This guys has been working really hard all season and it is really starting to pay off. He is just a sophomore and running some really fast times with a huge PR in the mile as Wheaton north. This weeks fire in the eyes goes to Nathan Ho - Brandon Carpenter

  • Awesome Award: MATT KING This guy has been working hard all season and just ran a big pr in the 3200 of 9:25 which is bellow the state qualifying time. That is why this weeks awesome award is going to Matt King. - Graham Faris
