Hi everyone,

Here is this week's important information to share:

  • The outdoor season has begun

  • Home meet Thursday

  • Wheaton North "Best 4" Invite Saturday (limited entries)

  • Bulldog Relays and Illinois Top Times Championships Recap

  • Food Pantry Recap

Welcome to Outdoor!

  • The outdoor season goes FAST! It's currently the second week of April, and the majority of our team will be done with their season after the second week of May.

  • With that being said, we have a LOT of athletes who are poised to qualify (and place!) at the state meet this year. You can review the meet schedule at www.gwtrackandfield.com.

  • Bring spikes EVERY DAY to practice during the outdoor season. You never know when we might need them, even if only for a few minutes! (Quarter-inch spikes are welcome!)

  • Bring warm gear for warm-ups. We will go outside every day unless we have inclement weather.

Home Meet Thursday

  • Running events and all field events start at 4:30. Estimated end time: 6:30

  • Everyone should be at this meet. Anyone who is not competing in Saturday's invite will compete at this meet. Everyone else will help work the meet and cheer on teammates.

  • Please arrive by 4:00 at the latest (earlier if you need to warm up earlier than that)

  • Non-Scored, single-level, unlimited-entry meet

  • Order of events: Combined 4x800 and 3200, 4x100, 110m High Hurdles, 100, 800, 4x200, 400, 300m Int Hurdles, 1600, 200, 4x400

Bulldog Relays winning 4x800: Graham Faris, Brandon Carpenter, Matt King, Keaton Peter
Bulldog Relays winning 4x800: Graham Faris, Brandon Carpenter, Matt King, Keaton Peter
  • Bulldog Relays:

    • The 4x200 of Krishtian Singh, Mateo Pedroza, Isaak Caldwell, and Evers Brogle; the 4x400 of Owen Ashmore, Keaton Peter, Nolan Borgman, and Graham Faris; and the distance medley (1200-400-800-1600) of Ely Tedford, Patrick O'Donnell, Nathan Ho, and Sam Roser represented GBW well and ran some great splits!

    • The 4x800 of Keaton Peter, Matt King, Brandon Carpenter, and Graham Faris ran a season-best of 8:14.29 and won the meet!

  • Prep Top Times (often referred to as the "indoor state meet"):

    • Jordan Ademuyiwa ran the 60m Dash in 7.12 and got 6th place (and a PR!) in the 200 in 22.70 (Would have been our indoor school record if not for Mason Ellen's 22.53 earlier this year)

    • Ben Schoettle ran the 60m Hurdles in 8.35, which placed 7th overall at an extremely prestigious meet

    • Chase Martin Scott got 5th and ran a PR in the 400 with a time of 51.31, our school's current indoor school record!
