This Week's Meet Information and Last Week's Meet Awards

Hello everyone,

Here is this week's meet information as well as awards for last week's meet:

Addison Trail - Thursday, Feb 16th:

• Two buses (Voland and Schweighardt) leave West at 3:30

• Field events start at 4:30, running events start at 5:00

• Shot, long, and triple have 3 attempts - no finals

• Order of events: 4x800, 4x160, 3200, 55HH, 55, 800, 400, 55LH, 1600, 200, 4x400

• 2 level meet, FAT, 1/8th inch spikes are allowed

• No spikes allowed in high-jump area

• Entries were limited - 8 individuals and 2 relays per level

• Entries are linked to www.gwtrackandfield.com

Batavia - Saturday, Feb 18th:

• Buses leave at 7:30 AM (Frazier & Nugent)

• Non-scored and unlimited entries

• Admission Fee: $5 adults, $3 students/kids (coaches/athletes are free)

• Pole Vault at 8:30, Field events at 9:00, running events at 9:15

• Order of events: 4x800, 2300, 55LH, 55HH, 55, 800, 4x200, 400, 1600, 200, 4x400

• 1/8th inch spikes are allowed again, but not in the high jump area

• 200m track!

• Pole vaulters get to vault!

• Entries are coming later this week

Last Week's Meet Awards:

• Runners of the week: Mason Ellens for what could be the fastest 50m low hurdle race ever ran in our facility and Tim Meehan for just beginning his T&F adventure and simultaneously running our fastest 800.

• Captain's Award (Well, coach's award this week): Ondro Peterson for supporting a group of 3 alternates, joining their group to form a full 4x400, and therefore running in two 4x400 races

• Captain's Award #2: Max Southwell for filming EVERY race while he was injured. This kid always asks what he can do to help.

• Fire in the eyes: If you happened to catch Jack Baer run in the thrower's 4x160, you know exactly why he won this award!

• Awesome Award: Ricky Villarreal for helping clean up the fieldhouse and helping clean up trash in the locker room after running an excellent set of races.
